The film follows 11-year-old Kaede, who collapses in class and is diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. Her journey through chemotherapy and radiation therapy is both painful and challenging. Kaede finds emotional support in Yoshi, a fellow patient also battling leukemia, as they navigate their difficult circumstances together.

Simultaneously, the narrative centers on Kengo Yanai, an IT company owner who suffers the tragic loss of his daughter to leukemia. This personal tragedy disrupts his family life and leads him to reevaluate his priorities. Kengo's commitment to becoming a bone marrow donor represents his attempt to find meaning after such a profound loss.
