Iftah is a layered exploration of identity and inner turmoil. Yiftach's journey from a life of repression into the bustling streets of Tel-Aviv is both poignant and unsettling. The film does a nice job of interweaving different time periods, allowing us to see the contrasts of Yiftach's past and present. There are some striking moments that capture that feeling of disconnect; the atmosphere really leans into this sense of isolation, even in a crowded city. The pacing can feel a bit meandering, but it allows for deeper reflection on the characters’ struggles. It's not exactly a straightforward narrative, which makes it feel more real, you know? The performances are earnest, really supplying the weight to this emotional tale.
