In Love and the War

Set in June 1950, In Love and the War depicts the arrival of North Korean soldiers in a small South Korean village. The story centers on Captain Jeong-woong, who claims to liberate the villagers but has ulterior motives to identify reactionaries. Seol-hee, who is left separated from her fiancé on their wedding day, and the villagers strive to maintain a facade of hospitality to avoid conflict with the troops.

As the narrative unfolds, unexpected friendships develop between the soldiers and the villagers, highlighting the complexities of war and human relationships. The film captures the emotional struggles and moral dilemmas faced during a tumultuous period in Korean history.
