In the Family is a quirky comedy that leans into its offbeat charm. It’s about Fikret, a guy dealing with the end of a long relationship, and Solmaz, a tavern singer with her own baggage. The film has this great mix of awkward humor and genuine emotion, especially when Fikret’s forced into a role he’s clearly not prepared for. The pacing is a bit uneven at times, but it kind of adds to the neurotic vibe. The performances feel authentic – you really buy into their struggles. It also gives a glimpse into Turkish culture through its music and social dynamics, which is always interesting to see in a comedy. Definitely one to check out if you appreciate character-driven stories with a heart.
