In the Spider's Grip

The story follows Aurélie, a fly living in the countryside with her uncle Anatole, a beetle. Aurélie's journey begins when she steals honey and is caught by a bee, leading to her rescue by the Capricorn, who becomes her fiancé. When the renowned Miss Phalène has an accident near their village, Aurélie seizes the opportunity to host her, ultimately being invited to Paris as a maid. However, Aurélie's life takes a turn as she gets involved with Tom, her suitor, and they both aspire to be dancers.

As Aurélie navigates her new life in Paris, she encounters the wealthy banker Arachnus, who deceives her into a trap. In a tragic turn of events, Tom saves her but pays the ultimate price with his life. Returning to the countryside, Aurélie faces rejection from her uncle and discovers that her fiancé has started a family with another fly, leaving her to confront the consequences of her choices.
