Ispiritista: Itay, May Moomoo weaves a quirky blend of comedy and horror with a touch of fantasy that isn't too common. The film has this lighthearted, almost whimsical tone, even though it dives into themes of loss and the supernatural. Victor, played with a certain charm, is a widower trying to connect with his son while juggling the farce of being a medium. It's funny, but it has these moments that make you reflect on familial bonds. The pacing is decent, not too rushed, allowing the gags and the spooky moments to breathe. The practical effects, especially during the spirit encounters, add a nice touch of old-school charm. And Tom Tom's discovery of his own abilities is... well, it really sets this apart from typical ghost stories.
Interesting blend of genres · Practical effects enhance atmosphere · Strong father-son dynamic
