Itosato

The film follows the story of Itosato, a courtesan in training, as she navigates a world filled with challenges and societal expectations. Her journey occurs against the backdrop of a tumultuous period in Japanese history, 155 years ago, when the Shogun era was coming to an end.

Itosato is part of a narrative that highlights the lives of three women, each in love with commanders of the Shinsengumi, a special police task force. This task force was established to safeguard the Shogun government under the Kyoto Military Commissioner. Through these characters, the film provides an interesting lens on the roles of women during this historical era, showcasing their resilience and influence.
