Jan on the Barge

The film follows 13-year-old Jan, who is raised without a mother. His father, a communist, is on the run after being accused of political murder. Jan's quest to uncover the truth about his father leads him to form a friendship with Max, who tragically gets caught up in the violence of the SA.

As Jan escapes by hiding on a barge, he is aided by Erika, the captain's daughter, and a boatman.
