Jasmina

The film follows Safa, an asthmatic grandmother, and her six-month-old granddaughter Jasmina as they are evacuated from war-torn Sarajevo. Their new life on the Adriatic coast is complicated by their neighbor, Stipe, an alcoholic whose struggles become intertwined with their own. As circumstances lead Safa to entrust Jasmina to Stipe during a health crisis, a unique bond forms between them.

As Safa passes away, Stipe finds himself alone with Jasmina, taking on the responsibility of her care. His relationship with the baby transforms him, as he grows to love her as if she were his own granddaughter. The story reaches a turning point when Jasmina's mother reappears, forcing Stipe to confront his attachment and ultimately make a heart-wrenching decision to return the child. This drama captures themes of neglect, love, and the unexpected connections that can form in dire circumstances.
