Jaws is a masterclass in tension and atmosphere, capturing that summer beach vibe while layering in pure dread. Spielberg's direction keeps you on edge, letting the shark remain unseen for much of the film, which only heightens the suspense. The practical effects, especially for the time, are impressive, with the mechanical shark adding a raw sense of danger—certainly not the digital effects we see today. Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, and Richard Dreyfuss each bring depth to their characters, creating a dynamic trio that feels real. The pacing is deliberate yet tense, with moments of levity breaking up the horror. The score by John Williams is instantly recognizable and perfectly complements the film's eerie tone.
