Jennerwein

The narrative follows Jennerwein, who witnesses the murder of his father, a renowned poacher, by the royal gamekeeper Mayr. This traumatic experience shapes his life as he eventually takes up his father's mantle, ridiculing the royal hunters alongside his friend Pföderl. Set against the backdrop of post-Franco-Prussian War poverty, the film explores how those who provided food during hard times could become folk heroes, despite the risks involved.

As Jennerwein and Pföderl navigate their dangerous lives, they also contend with personal conflict, particularly over their shared affection for Agerl.
