Jessabelle has this eerie Southern Gothic vibe that’s pretty engaging. The pacing is deliberate, allowing the unsettling atmosphere to build as we follow the protagonist, who’s dealing with more than just physical recovery. The connection to her mother adds layers to the haunting, and there's a nice mix of practical effects that give it an old-school horror feel. The performances, especially from the lead, really anchor the emotional weight of the story. There's something interesting about how it weaves in family trauma with the supernatural. It’s not groundbreaking, but it has a certain charm that makes it stand out in the modern horror landscape.
