Jigsaw is one of those 60s thrillers that leans heavily into the bizarre, with its LSD plot twist setting a rather unsettling tone. The pacing feels like a slow burn, but it ramps up in tension as the main character wrestles with his fragmented memories and the looming threat of murder. The atmosphere is thick with paranoia, heightened by practical effects that are surprisingly effective for the time. James Goldstone’s direction gives it a gritty feel, and there’s something very raw about the performances. It doesn’t quite fit into the conventional mold of mystery or thriller, which makes it stand out in a collection. A little obscure, but worth having for its unique take on the genre.
