Jimmy Higgings

The film follows Jimmy Higgings, a worker at a weapons plant for Tsarist Russia and the German Empire. During his journey, Jimmy becomes an outspoken opponent of the war and is arrested for his beliefs. After his release, he finds himself unemployed and eager to support the revolution.

When he volunteers for the American expeditionary force, he believes he is fighting against the Germans, but soon learns that his comrades are actually combating the young Socialist Russia. This revelation leads him to embrace revolutionary ideals, as he spreads propaganda among American soldiers and distributes Bolshevik leaflets. His commitment to the cause results in his capture by military police and a harsh sentence of twenty years in prison, ultimately leading to a tragic decline in his mental state.
