Kai Doh Maru

The story unfolds in the Capital city of Kyo, where political factions clash over control. Kintoki, a young girl whose parents were murdered, escapes into the mountains. There, she is renamed Kai Doh Maru by the villagers and taken in by Raiko, the Captain of 'The Four Knights.' Raised among the Knights as a boy, she trains in martial arts and becomes a skilled samurai.

As Kai Doh Maru matures into a seventeen-year-old woman, she navigates complex feelings for Raiko, while also confronting jealousy and rage from another woman tied to her past. This film is a unique blend of compelling characters and rich storytelling, characteristic of Production I.G's animation style.
