Kigali Night

Kigali Night tells the story of Samuel, a 23-year-old who arrives in Rwanda as an audiovisual facilitator at the French Cultural Centre in Kigali. He deliberately chooses this path to avoid military service, but he quickly realizes the gravity of his surroundings. With the French army stationed at the Cultural Centre, Samuel finds himself in a precarious position, caught between his work and the unfolding war.

Over the course of 18 months, Samuel grapples with the warnings around him. Despite the accumulating evidence of violence and atrocity, he struggles to reconcile his experiences with the belief that France supports such a regime. His initial enjoyment of the country and its culture is overshadowed by doubt, leading him to confront uncomfortable truths as he witnesses the reality of the situation unfold.
