Killer (1997) is one of those quirky blends of action and comedy that throws a hapless cab driver into the chaotic world of crime. You know, the guy's just trying to make a living when he's mistaken for a contract killer, and then things spiral from there. The pacing has this odd rhythm, balancing moments of tension and absurdity, which gives it a unique vibe. The performances are playful, especially from the mob boss character who just revels in the chaos. Practical effects bring an authenticity to the action scenes that you don't see as much today, making it feel raw and unfiltered. It's a curious mix of genres that doesn’t quite fit any mold, which is what makes it stand out, if you ask me.
