K.O.R.

This documentary focuses on the events in Warsaw, Poland, at the end of the Seventies, highlighting the workers’ revolt against rising prices and the violent repression by the communist regime. It chronicles the formation of the KOR (Workers’ Defense Committee), which emerged as a response to the oppressive political climate and aimed to establish an autonomous labor organization.

Through the narratives of three KOR members, the film recounts the struggle against the Communist government and the evolution of the KOR into a pivotal force that contributed to the birth of Solidarnosc, the first independent trade union in Eastern Europe. The insights provided by these individuals offer a personal perspective on a significant chapter in Poland’s history, showcasing the resilience of those who fought for social justice and labor rights.
