The story unfolds shortly before the Spanish Civil War, focusing on a group of Phalangist friends who aspire to revolutionize Spain. As the war erupts, the character Lopez faces a turning point when he is saved from execution by a Republican and subsequently joins the national side.

After the war, Lopez is encouraged by an old comrade to participate in a covert operation against the guerrillas in Asturias. Despite being married with children, he infiltrates the resistance, convincing them of his intentions to supply weapons for their fight. The film presents a complex narrative of loyalty, betrayal, and the moral dilemmas faced during a tumultuous period in Spanish history.
