Lamerica

Lamerica follows Fiore, an Italian conman, who arrives in post-Communist Albania with his apprentice Gino. They plan to establish a shoe factory that is never intended to open, leading to a complex con involving a native Albanian named Spiro, a former political prisoner. When Fiore returns to Italy for government funding, Spiro disappears, prompting Gino to search for him.

As Gino embarks on this journey, he uncovers Spiro's tragic history and witnesses the severe poverty in Albania. The film not only highlights the struggles faced by individuals in a transitioning society but also explores the moral ambiguities of Fiore and Gino's actions. With a runtime of 112 minutes, Lamerica presents a poignant narrative set against the backdrop of a nation in turmoil.
