Late Spring, directed by Cho Keun-hyun, really pulls you into this world of 1960s Korea, where the air is thick with unspoken emotions. The main character, Joo-goo, is a sculptor whose talent is overshadowed by his deteriorating health, which makes his predicament all the more poignant. The pacing is deliberate, allowing viewers to soak in the atmosphere of despair and fleeting beauty. Jung-sook, his wife, embodies a mix of hope and desperation, trying to rekindle Joo-goo's passion for art through the search for a muse. The performances are raw and heartfelt, giving a really intimate feel to their struggles. It's the blend of haunting visuals and the exploration of love amid suffering that sets this film apart.
