Le jardinier

In Le jardinier, the story unfolds in a factory that dispenses tiny amounts of water to stragglers. These individuals carry pans as receptacles, adding to the film's surreal atmosphere. Inside the factory, workers engage in seemingly nonsensical activities while being overseen by a periscope operated by twins running the establishment.

The protagonist, a whimsical foreman played by Maurice Bénichou, is affectionately known as the "gardener". He tends to flowers planted in coal wagons, which are the only remnants owned by the company. The narrative weaves together eccentric characters and a bizarre setting, making it a distinctive example of surreal comedy.
