The film follows Selma, who lives in poverty with her sister Leyla and their alcoholic father. As Leyla becomes involved with a wealthy man named Ziya, Selma finds work as a secretary, only to discover that her boss Suat is connected to Leyla’s past. Their romance blossoms, but challenges arise when Suat's family rejects Selma as a suitable bride.
