'Lelik' Is My Sacrifice

The film follows Hannes Lombard, a doctor who has lost his medical license due to substance abuse. Seeking solace, he retreats to a farm in northern Natal, where he struggles with farming and life choices. His godson, Buks, arrives to live with him, embracing the carefree farm life and forming a friendship with Sproetie, the neighbor’s daughter.

Tragedy strikes when an accident involving Buks’s dog leads to Sproetie’s paralysis, leaving Buks in deep regret. The story shifts as the characters navigate their emotional turmoil with the guidance of Willem, the farmhand, who offers wisdom and support.
