Lethal Target is one of those films that plays like a mashup of sci-fi horror and action tropes, really leaning into the campy vibe of the late '90s. The atmosphere is thick with tension, as a female marshal goes undercover on this claustrophobic starship, which becomes a deathtrap filled with gnarly alien threats. You can tell they had fun with the practical effects, and some of the alien designs are pretty memorable—certainly not your run-of-the-mill invaders. The pacing is a bit uneven, but that adds to its charm in a way. Performances can be hit or miss, but the lead carries it well, keeping you invested in her fight against this looming invasion. There's just something about the mix of genres that feels distinctive in its own strange way.
Great example of late '90s genre blending.Interesting practical effects for its time.Features a strong female lead in a male-dominated role.
