Lifting Shadows

The story follows Vania, a political refugee from Russia, who finds herself in danger even after arriving in the United States. She is pursued by assassins known as "the Ring of Death" due to important papers she carries from her father. Vania's life takes a tragic turn when she marries a man with a drug addiction and eventually shoots him during a heated argument.

As the narrative unfolds, a young lawyer steps in to defend Vania and becomes romantically involved with her.
