Limbo

The film follows Manuela Paris, who returns to her seaside town near Rome on Christmas Eve after serving as a soldier. Her journey reflects not only her physical struggles but also her emotional battles against memories and societal expectations placed upon women.

As a non-commissioned officer and platoon commander, Manuela's experiences in Afghanistan shape her character. After suffering a serious injury in combat, she confronts a new kind of war against disillusionment and pain.

The narrative also features her encounter with Mattia, a mysterious man who shares her sense of being in a state of limbo. This meeting becomes a pivotal moment, emphasizing that life remains valuable despite challenges and perceptions.
