Livet på Hegnsgaard

The story unfolds on the Jutland heath near Salling at Hegnsgaarden, where Wolle Rævsgaard, the harsh owner, creates a tumultuous environment. His wife Karen is trapped in an unhappy marriage, longing for her true love, Per Søwren. Per, heartbroken, marries Ane, whose jealousy leads to tragic consequences for their home.

As the narrative progresses, the passage of 15 years introduces a new generation. Trine, the daughter of Wolle and Karen, matures into a beautiful young woman amidst the lingering shadows of past relationships and resentments. The film's comedic elements are intertwined with themes of love lost and the repercussions of jealousy, reflecting the complexities of rural life.
