Locomotive Teacher

The story follows Seigo Yoshioka, portrayed by Kenji Sakaguchi, who becomes mute after a kendo accident. Feeling lost, he returns to his mother’s birthplace to teach on an island. Despite initial hostility from the parents, who doubt his abilities, Seigo’s kindness and determination help him form meaningful relationships with his students.

As the children affectionately call him 'Kikansha Sensei' or Teacher Locomotive, they begin to see beyond his silence. The film captures the transformative power of education and connection, particularly during Japan's economic miracle period. The narrative also delves into the challenges faced by those who are different, emphasizing resilience and understanding.
