Lonesome Boy

The story follows Hugo, who is profoundly affected by the departure of his mother and younger siblings. In an attempt to process his feelings, he envisions a film that reflects his loneliness, aiming to cast the real people in his life. However, as he reaches out to his mother, schoolmates, and grandfather for participation, he faces rejection, leading him deeper into isolation and depression.

Hugo's deteriorating mental state impacts his relationships with friends and his girlfriend. Struggling with sleeplessness and a lack of interest in school, he embodies the consequences of emigration through his personal struggles. Lonesome Boy uses this poignant lens to highlight the often-overlooked emotional aftermath of family separation and the journey of a young person trying to navigate this challenging experience.
