Look Out Haskell, It’s Real!: The Making of Medium Cool

This documentary details the making of Haskell Wexler's 1969 feature Medium Cool. It includes interviews with the film's cast and crew, alongside critics and historical figures, along with outtakes from the original film. The project has evolved into more of an educational endeavor over time.

A 55-minute version of the documentary premiered at the 2001 Edinburgh Film Festival, presented alongside a new theatrical print of Medium Cool, with Wexler in attendance. This version was also broadcast on various networks, including the BBC, PBS, and the Sundance Channel.

In 2015, the documentary was expanded into a comprehensive six-part series, running approximately six and a half hours. A version of this documentary is included in the 2013 Criterion Collection DVD release of Medium Cool, making it of interest to both fans of the original film and collectors of documentary cinema.
