Looking Back

The narrative follows Frantisek, a young scriptwriter, who is tasked with adapting the successful novel Looking Back into a film. He encounters the novel's author, Olga Machová, a University professor who is about ten years his senior. Their initial misunderstandings set the stage for a deeper exploration of their differing life experiences.

Frantisek struggles with dissatisfaction in both his career and personal life, grappling with feelings of isolation and moral uncertainty. In contrast, Olga, while also feeling lonely, believes her life is fulfilled. The film's themes of flashbacks and introspection invite viewers to reflect on the nature of fulfillment and personal growth. With a cast that includes Jiřina Třebická and Petr Čepek, Looking Back offers a poignant look at the challenges of communication and connection amidst life's complexities.
