The documentary follows Mónica Chirife, who contracted polio at age seven and has since lived in a wheelchair. Despite her physical challenges, she has worked as a private English teacher and raised a daughter. Motivated by her own experiences, Mónica embarked on a journey to document the stories of other mothers facing similar challenges.

Running for 70 minutes, Madres con ruedas offers an intimate look into the lives of these mothers, showcasing their strength and the unique bond they share with their children. The film, produced by INCAA and Cine Ojo, highlights the everyday realities and triumphs of women overcoming adversity in their roles as mothers. It serves not only as a documentary but as a testament to the human spirit in the face of hardship.
