Magdalena

The story unfolds over six weeks in Berghofen, a village near Dachau, focusing on Thomas Mayr, also known as Paulimann, and his wife Mariann. After 37 years of marriage, Mariann's health deteriorates as the family's situation worsens due to their daughter Magdalena's choices. She moves back home after facing legal troubles in the city, inciting scorn from the villagers.

The film captures the tension between familial loyalty and societal judgment. Paulimann's promise to his wife on his deathbed reflects the emotional weight of their situation and the challenges that come with upholding family honor in the face of disgrace.
