Mansai-Beyond River

The narrative of Mansai centers on the challenges faced by Mano as she reaches marriageable age, becoming a target for ridicule from her neighbors. Her father is determined to secure a good marriage for her, but obstacles arise, particularly from Gyanda, a local ferry merchant who seeks to disrupt her future.

Gyanda's actions lead to severe consequences for Mano's family, including financial difficulties stemming from the theft of a boat. As tensions escalate, Mano makes the difficult decision to leave her home with Gyanda, driven by the need to protect her father and their family.
