Martian Successor Nadesico: The Motion Picture - Prince of Darkness has this intriguing blend of action and drama that really lets you sink into its universe. The pacing is a bit of a rollercoaster, with moments of intense battles interspersed with quieter, more reflective scenes. Ruri's shift to captain of Nadesico B adds an interesting dynamic, especially with Akito and Yurika missing. There's a lot to unpack with the Hisago Plan and how Boson Jumping affects the characters and their relationships. The animation holds up well, with some nice practical effects that create a unique atmosphere. Performances are solid, particularly Ruri’s leadership arc, which adds depth to the already rich narrative. Not your typical sequel, for sure.
