Mask

Mask tells the story of a young woman who undergoes cosmetic surgery on her face for her boyfriend's approval. However, the outcome does not satisfy him, prompting her to embark on a journey of self-discovery. The film highlights the pressures of societal beauty standards and the personal struggles that accompany them.

Directed by Nava Rezvani, Mask is a concise exploration of complex themes in just 15 minutes. The film features Katayoun Saleki in the lead role, delivering a poignant performance that underscores the emotional weight of the narrative. Produced by the Iranian Youth Cinema Society (IYCS), it represents contemporary Iranian cinema's engagement with personal and societal issues.
