Midsommar is really something else—Ari Aster crafts this unsettling atmosphere that lingers long after the credits roll. It’s not your typical horror flick; there’s this bizarre juxtaposition of vibrant, sun-soaked visuals and the creeping dread that builds throughout. The pacing is methodical, almost hypnotic, which draws you deeper into the unsettling rituals of the community. Performances are intense, especially Florence Pugh, who lays bare the emotional turmoil of her character. The practical effects shine, too, grounding the surreal in a way that makes you question what’s real versus what's part of the festival. It’s a different kind of horror that sticks with you, challenging your perceptions of culture and relationships. Really a fascinating watch, if you’re into that sort of thing.
