Modris

Modris tells the story of a 17-year-old boy navigating life while dealing with a gambling addiction. Living with his mother in a challenging situation, he faces the consequences of his actions when he pawns her electric heater to fund his gambling. This decision leads to a betrayal and a two-year probation sentence, thrusting him into the Latvian justice system.

As Modris grapples with his circumstances, he also embarks on a quest to find the father he has never met. The film captures the complexities of his relationships and personal growth against the backdrop of a Nordic winter. It presents a raw portrayal of adolescence, familial bonds, and the struggles of youth in contemporary society.
