Monodramas

Broadcast nightly in British Columbia for three weeks in 1992, these micronarratives utilize television's editing techniques while refusing to deliver cohesive stories. Instead, they present fragmented tales of dysfunction, dislocation, and misunderstanding.

A notable example features a car and a school bus nearly colliding at an intersection, only to depart without incident. Another vignette portrays a pedestrian greeting an Afro-Canadian man, who responds with, “I’m not Gary.” Such moments highlight the absurdity within daily life and the often-misguided perceptions shaped by media.
