Moral Courage

The story follows wealthy Joshua Anson, who wants his son Chadwick to marry within their social class. When Chadwick falls in love with factory girl Mary McClintock, Anson tries to sabotage their relationship by framing Mary. However, she proves to be clever and resilient, ultimately marrying Chadwick despite his father's schemes.

As the plot unfolds, Anson's attempts to break up the couple become increasingly desperate, culminating in a $100,000 offer to Mary for a divorce. Mary outsmarts him yet again, accepting the money, divorcing Chadwick, and then remarrying him.
