Mother and Son

The documentary centers around the son’s initiative to have his mother create videos, which she does in exchange for small payments. This arrangement stems from her daily use of her mobile phone to read the news, which led to pain from overuse. As a result, they embark on a creative journey that results in 165 videos sent over the course of several months.

Directed by Dai Xu, who was born in 1995 and has a background in documentary media, the film reflects on their lives and the bond they share. The project culminates in a book titled "A Book from Two Places," which is based on the footage they shot together.
