MouseHunt is one of those flicks you throw on for a good laugh. Gore Verbinski's direction mixes slapstick with a touch of charm, thanks in part to Nathan Lane and Lee Evans who bring the Smuntz brothers to life—it's a fun dynamic. What really stands out is the practical effects; the mouse, a little genius, outsmarts them at every turn and becomes the real star. The pacing is brisk, with nice comedic timing throughout, and the house itself, a character in its own right, adds to the whimsical chaos. It's not just a family comedy; it plays with the themes of greed and brotherhood in a light, entertaining way. Definitely a film that holds its own in the '90s family genre.
