Mr. Wong's World

Set against the backdrop of Shanghai's transformation, Mr. Wong's World tells the story of Jeffrey Wong's mission to save traditional buildings from destruction. With 2000 new high-rises replacing much of the old town, Wong secretly acquires historic houses, temples, and pagodas. His team works overnight to dismantle these structures piece by piece, all while avoiding scrutiny from government officials.

The documentary provides a unique perspective on the challenges of preserving cultural heritage in a rapidly modernizing society. Wong's vision culminates in the creation of a "heritage village," where he aims to reconstruct his collection of 150 significant buildings.
