The story follows Carla Michelsen, who decides to disown her three children while offering them a substantial sum of money. Each child is presented with a contract to sign, granting them 250,000 euros if they accept the terms. This leads to a range of reactions, particularly from Philipp, who is in dire need of cash, and Doro, who resists the idea of severing family ties.

As the siblings navigate their mother’s unusual offer, Doro's daughter, Joe, chooses to stay with Carla and develops a close bond with her grandmother. However, tensions rise when Joe reveals her pregnancy and Carla suggests an abortion, leading Joe to take drastic action with some of the money.
