Nabat is an interesting piece, really. It captures the heavy toll of war on personal lives, focusing on an old couple amidst the backdrop of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Elchin Guliyev’s direction gives it a somber tone; you feel the weight of each moment. The pacing is deliberate, almost meditative, which allows the characters’ grief to settle in. The performances are raw and authentic, especially from the leads. There's an unsettling realism in their portrayal of loss. The film leans heavily into its themes of love, loss, and the lingering scars of conflict. It’s not flashy, but there's a haunting beauty that lingers long after the credits roll. Definitely a unique watch for those who appreciate character-driven narratives.
