Set in post-World War II Germany, "Nach dem Krieg" tells the story of an 11-year-old boy, Paul, who is anxiously waiting for his father's return. His mother, Eva, is aware that her husband won't come back and is trying to create a new life with her partner, Sam, an African-American G.I. stationed in Germany.
