The story centers on Shust and his friends, who engage in various petty scams and schemes for profit. Their lives take a turn when they meet Ulyanov, a former shot put champion from the USSR, and his daughter. This encounter prompts Shust to reevaluate his life choices. However, the pressure from his gang leads him to exploit Ulyanov in planning a robbery of a Buryat commune involved in jade trading.
