The story follows Merrit, who appears to have a perfect life with her job, children, and marriage. However, her plans for a vacation are derailed when she learns of her father's heart attack, prompting her to head to the Eifel instead of Italy.

As Merrit reconnects with her quirky mother Iris, family tensions rise when her husband Immo and children unexpectedly arrive. Complicating matters, Merrit's daughter Jule is shaken after discovering her father in bed with her best friend Bea.
