Neue Freunde, neues Glück

The film follows Nele Ungureit, who faces life-altering changes when her husband, Fred, leaves her for his secretary after 35 years of marriage. Struggling with her new reality, Nele finds herself isolated, battling the challenges of single life while her grown children offer little support.

As she navigates her emotional turmoil, an unexpected inheritance of a spacious city villa presents a new opportunity. Nele decides to transform her life by establishing a shared living arrangement with other senior citizens she has met, creating a community in the face of adversity. However, her plans are complicated by her son Hannes, who has his own ambitions for the villa, adding tension to an already challenging situation.
